The end is coming

This might be my favourite camera: I wish I could say I wasn't influenced by its 'just back from Vietnam (or, probably nowadays, Afghanistan)' appearance, but it's not only that.

But its meter has gone wrong, again (this time it eats batteries so it's always dead when you take it out of the bag) and I am, again, going to spend more than it's worth on getting it fixed. I think the time is coming when I will have to admit that it needs a bullet to the head.

Then, of course, I will be able to keep what's left on a shelf and it will tell the lie it already tells a lot more convincingly.

But I will miss it when it is gone.
