Happy Birthday Caroline

It was a grand thing Karen did today, throwing a party for Caroline’s 80th.  She composed a tune for the occasion which all invited musicians had learned.  Folk had flown down from North Ronaldsay for the day.  It stayed dry, folk tried to keep out of the north wind and Neil Croy (74) declared that it is the driest he’s ever seen it; his well has run dry.  The only drier place in the UK than Orkney is Strathnaver.

CMC made two cakes for the party.  I’ve never seen folk fight over a cake before.
