Guerrilla gardening (or random harvest)

It's a thing, apparently.

It's become quite clear to us that the land behind our houses is not going to be developed anytime soon.  So Anniemay and a neighbour started clearing a patch to plant some veggies.  A mini-allotment, so to speak.

It was our neighbour's grandchildren who actually did most of the initial hard work; "Grannie - can we dig for treasure?"   Oh yes.

They spent about two days - in rain and shine - getting rid of weeds, stones and general building rubbish, before they hit the mother lode - a selection horse paraphernalia (harnesses and buckles) and assorted bottles.

Once cleared and levelled, a few planks and bricks enclosed the chosen spot.  Another neighbour donated some plants to get things started.

So - we now sit back and wait.  Unless we're on watering duty.
