Lathyrus Odoratus

Emily

Coming towards the end of the sweet pea season for this year. I've grubbed up a couple of rows this afternoon. The pink one here is Emily, a modern grandiflora, which I grow for my daughter of the same name.

I have a dilemma. If we move house next year what do I do about sweet peas? Having grown them for more than 40 years I'm reluctant to miss a season but equally I don't want to leave someone with 200+ cordon grown sweet peas to look after. The compromise might be to grow a small bed of dwarf or semi-dwarf varieties. That would be something new for me and, if we do sell, wouldn't be too daunting for someone else.
