Waiting
Freezing morning with flurries of snow as we drove to Newcastle for Mum's eye appointment. The consultant was "not in the clinic" and for one awful moment we thought Mum was being put in to see the one who was rude and rough when she saw him a few years ago. That raised anxiety levels, although we would have come away unseen, rather than risk a repeat performance.
In the event, we had a long wait and saw one junior doctor then another more senior one. They were delightful and spent time explaining what needs to be done. It will be a "nip and tuck" operation on a sagging eyelid and should help prevent ongoing problems. It's the nearest Mum will get to plastic surgery!
Home via a quick supermarket hit. Then my cousin Eric and wife Pauline came to visit en route to a hotel in Otterburn for a reunion with friends. We had a great chat and caught up on the news of their 3 sons and families.
In the room were 3 knees that have had cartilage surgery and a fourth that needs it but the "owner" is unlikely to agree. Arth is not yet able to recommend the operation......
The location finder has accurately found the actual eye outpatients department at the RVI in Newcastle without me lifting a finger. How amazing is that?
