On the Wall

Meetings of the Civic Society have resumed and in new premises - a new community space that is part of the Palace Theatre, Paignton. We enjoy these monthly coffee mornings ‘with a difference’. The difference is coffee with an update on planning matters, a general knowledge quiz, a mystery object quiz, and a talk about someone connected with Torbay or Devon. Yesterday it was Stephen Ward, the son of a Torquay vicar, who was prosecuted during the Profumo affair, and took his own life while on trial, and on bail. The attendance (47) was 50% of what it was precovid.
