Doubling up!

Hooray ..... sunshine today .... lovely & warm too :-)

Thrilled to see a Humming-bird Hawk-moth on the Buddleia this morning!

Spotted it from the kitchen window ..... grabbed the camera & ran hurried into the garden hoping it would still be there!

It was!

I chased it all round the Buddleia .... had numerous attempts at getting a clear shot ..... not helped by the wind ...... this was the best of a blurred bunch but I just had to include it in my blip!

I then realised just how many Small Tortoiseshell butterflies there were ...... they were everywhere!
I did my best to count them ........ there were at least 28! Amazing ..... never seen so many at any one time before!

There was also a couple of Red Admiral & a Painted Lady.

A Large White stopped by for a pit stop .... as did a couple of Small Whites!

At one point looking out of the kitchen window there were at least a dozen Small Tortoiseshell on the part of the top Buddleia that was visible!

All in all a bumper butterfly day! There were so many they were doubling up on the flowers! :-)
