Foam

Today felt inexplicably lighter, possibly because I had no commitments, and no scheduled calls. The morning got off to a good purposeful start and I cleaned the bedroom window, quite successfully, with newspaper. It’s the only window that bothers me, especially when the early morning sun enhances the smears and cobwebs as I look up from my coffee and the world’s ghastly news in the paper.
This was followed by a deceptively challenging yoga session with A. Today we did what felt like barre exercises, as in ballet, swinging our legs backwards and forwards, before moving onto the ground. An excellent workout which I’m sure is helping when I’m in the hills. I am very much looking forward to Scottish Ballet resuming their real live classes at the Tramway. I could have got a place on their zoom option but really I’m so fed up of zoom activity.
Made the most of another glorious afternoon and walked to Greenbank Gardens in Clarkston. It was further than I had expected and although most of it was on main roads it was relatively quiet. The blip is a sculpture called Foam. Originally made for the Empire Exhibition in Bellahouston Park in the 1930s it now sits in the Greenbank Garden’s pond. Coffee and a chocolate orange cake at MoyraJanes in Newton Mearns perked me up and I included a couple of small diversions in my route home. I was quite surprised that I had apparently clocked up just over 13 miles.
