Barns near Bellinzona
We passed many barns like these towards the end of our bike ride today. They all looked well maintained and were still being used.
An early start this morning but, unfortunately, we were stood in the wrong place for the bus and it left without us! An hour later, we took the next bus to San Bernardino village and from there cycled the 8km, 450 mètres yo thé top of the Pass. Lots of hairpin bends made the gradient for cycling easier than expected. Having reached the top, where we’d camped the day before, we put on lots of layers and started the cycle down. First it was mountain scenery, then small farms and, 54km later, the valley floor. Fabulous views all day and some great waterfalls. We stopped for ice cream and it definitely felt like we were in Italy.
