Planting, then seeding
Another day with the Cumbria Wildlife Trust meadow team, this time at Haybridge nature reserve in the Rusland Valley. This morning we planted water-loving plants in the marshy area (meadowsweet, angelica, marsh marigold etc), hoping the deer won't find them too tempting. This afternoon we sowed seed in a traditional hay meadow, using the traditional method of sowing by hand on a warm, sunny and windless day (see extra).
