A strange Spring
Here we are in the vineyard of La Charrue just over the border in Switzerland, where our favourite rose wine comes from, made by my mate Denny.
His vines, heavily pruned, are just showing their first, minute buds.
Yet to the north, over the border in France, the Jura mountains still have their snow, and further north still, in the UK, heavy snow is falling.
'It's a rum do all right', as my Lancashire grandfather would have said.
