Poinsettia

I decided to put the two poinsettia plants outside to help deter those pesky greenfly, hoping maybe something might come and eat a few. At least I allowed the plants some enjoyment of the sunshine. On the left is the pink one, on the right the red one I pruned and, in the terra cotta pot far right, two prunings that have taken root.

The home-made fly paper showed moderate success in that they caught nearly 50 wee beasts but might have caught more had they not become too dry for them to stick, possibly the result of the sticky medium draining down and dripping off the bottom of the papers. It might be worth using a more absorbent paper rather than standard coloured A4 printer paper.
