It's only a game!

What a wonderful day for the Argyll Gathering! Held as usual in the Mossfield stadium, it was a full day of Highland activities such as sprinting, hill running, hammer throwing, stone throwing, tug-of-war, long jumping and caber tossing! My Blip today is of one of the Highland tough guys attempting to flip his caber, which was a conifer trunk!

Princess Anne was a guest today, though I had no idea she was coming. She came through the Heritage Tent where we were staffing the Scottish Wildlife Trust table and stopped for a chat. I was away taking her photograph and Mrs M was keeping out of the way, so she spoke to Nick, from the SWT in Edinburgh, and Di, who's one of our local SWT group. There were half a dozen dark-suited bodyguards milling around looking very obvious! Her Royal Highness is my extra today though she doesn't know it, unless of course she's a secret Blipper! I've also put on a picture of the Oban High School pipe band.

A good time was had by all and we made a couple of hundred pounds for the SWT, so it was quite a success!
