Hibiscus

This pretty shrub was in the garden of my fellow editor this morning. I blipped it as I left her house after together we had scoured the local newspapers and cut out articles which we felt were suitable for inclusion in this week’s Talking Newspaper. We are just the editors, and I passed our selection on to others in the team who read and record it before it is distributed to visually impaired people in the local area. It is an enjoyable process and we know it is appreciated.
The shrub in Barbara’s front garden is a variety of hibiscus, but very different from the large exotic trumpet shaped flowers of the tropical shrub.
