New job

Last weekend Daan saw an advert for a Saturday job at Groenrijk Eemsdelta in Appingedam, a local garden center.


He'd mentioned lately a few times already he would like a Saturday job, and Groenrijk would be perfect. Some classmates work in supermarkets, but Daan doesn't want that. He was focussed on Groenrijk all the time. If only they had a job available.

And suddenly here it was: A dream come true.
He immediately wrote an application letter and through social media he arranged an appointment very quickly. Annemarie and I let him, we talked about consequences and responsabilities when he would actually get this job.
We wouldn't have mind if he'd waited another year, or two. Daan is only 15. But we didn't want to block this opportunity for him either.

We made the strict deal that school results still would have priority no. 1! And of course Daan agreed.

At 15.30 this afternoon he had the job interview. He went there straight from school. One hour later we had a very wound up and enthusiastic boy at home. He's got the job!
All other candidates were skipped and or cancelled, Daan turned out to be the one they wanted. Cool!
His first working day will be September 4th.
