Acanthus
Long hours at the computer marking university scripts and writing the third major report in a row are getting to me. Still I keep telling myself I am making progress and the end is in sight...
The Acanthus have flowered well this year, their statuesque spikes providing much pleasure. Its easy to see why they became such an important motif in classical architecture . The damp weather seems to have suited them even though much of the rest of the garden now appears very overgrown. Time to start the autumn tidy.
