TROPHY

KIPLINCOTES DERBY, UK

The oldest horse race in England - the 494th running of the race.

Been here before - see this image of the winner last year.
It is always a great occasion and this is the fantastic trophy, taken on a lovely sunny day.

This year there were 13 runners - one more than last year - but the crowd was vast. Apparently there was a feature on the race in a National Farming magazine so folk came from miles around to watch.

This year the winner was Carolyn Bales, riding WOTEVA. She gets this trophy and £50. See my Blipfolio entry.
The second horse, would you believe, was called EEYORE ridden by Geoff Bridges. He gets the rest of the entry money !
