Collieston
So our last day and the weather turned a bit. We still had a final walk on Cruden Bay beach before popping down to Collieston and it's lovely wee beach. Funnily enough as we returned to the car from a walk along Cruden Bay beach on Monday, we chatted with a man whose surname was Collie. Clearly Arlo is living in the wrong end of the country. After lunch we squeezed in a visit to Dunnottar (fort on the shelving slope) Castle, a quite splendid castle ruin with defences almost impenetrable. The Scottish Crown Jewels were hidden here from Oliver Cromwell in the 17th century. And we're home, back to life, back to reality.
