It's A Minute To Midnight

Gentle Giant Jack

I have hopefully got a front cover image of poppies on our local district advertiser in November and I thought that was it .......all Id get.
I received an email from them saying that they were on the look out for a horse image to go on the October issue of the magazine if I was interested. Of course!!!  I'm always interested........but I don't have any images of horses! About the only thing I didn't have. I remembered I had a friend who's daughter had a horse.
 I feel a plan hatching.
So I messaged her to find out her daughter has two horses and she would love their picture taking and would be only too happy to let me use it for the front cover.
I arranged a shoot on a day I was  working a night shift ( on hindsight not a good idea) I didn't sleep very well worrying if Id get a good image. So I met them  at a very grand looking house where the horses were kept. (It really looked like Mr Darcy would come striding out)
Focus Karen :-)
I had asked the advertiser what type of shot they were after and they replied with maybe a horses head over a fence or gate. I did get exactly the shot I was after but the horses owner wanted some action shots.
Trying not to bore you with the details of harsh light and dark shadows playing havoc with camera settings I got a couple and a lot blurred!
I have never been afraid of horses, however big as my Mum will tell you but the young ladies mum would not come into the ring with Jack here thundering around. Me, I was in my element apart from my back playing up. Beautiful Jack came thundering round looking gorgeous and although its not technically great I really like the angle of him coming round me. Jack was cuddly and a lovely horse with amazing blue eyes.

Extra is a phone shot of the place the horses were kept.
