The morning after
I thought she might have a bit more of a lie in than she did today.... She was awake at 7.15, at breakfast by 7.30am. But it meant a good chain of events. We were able to enjoy seeing various guests from yesterday's celebrations as they arrived for breakfast. It meant we could say hello to grandad and granny as we crossed paths at breakfast. And it meant we were done with all of that and in our room when the phone rang to say a slot had come up in the previously fully booked swimming session at 9.15! Katie and I were there in two minutes flat. There's an extra again today.... Because today for the first time since covid I did exercise other than walking! Fairly gently but very enjoyably, I managed to join Katie for a swim. She was beyond delighted. She beamed the entire time. And we enjoyed Katie's first jacuzzi. She wasn't so keen on the steam room but mama was. It was a delightful 45 minutes.
After our swim, we met granny and grandad, packed our car and headed off to my sisters for morning coffee and left over wedding cake. We left the olds there and set off with a doggy bag packed so we could get home. This afternoon was her NCO audition with B. They ran through the pieces and we did the audition recording as live - a 'one take and done' approach.
Freezer tea tonight. Turkey dinosaurs and potato waffles for a tired little miss!
