Chasing the Light

A day without the
smoke of wildfires is a good
day to be enjoyed

It's another beautiful day starting up in the Thompson Valleys.

I was up a bit late. It was already 6:30 and 9 C when I backed the car out of the garage. I'd taken my first photo from my deck before the sun was up. Then, I decided I wanted to be somewhere to see the light coming over water. Riverside Park seemed like a good target on such a lovely morning.

I parked by the tennis courts and walked along the path to the pier. I caught the light coming in by the railway bridge. I watched the Canadian National train coming across the bridge. It had three engines so I would assume it would be a long one tying up the edge of the city.

Across the river, at the point where the outside edges of the two rivers meet, I found that solitary heron again. This must be a favourite fishing spot fot this fellow. It is a long shot from the pier to catch him. It took me four tries with my shaky hands.

The Canada geese were occupying the park, making it a challenge for the lawnmower guy.

The foreshore had seagulls and very few ducks. I'm not seeing many ducks at all these days. Perhaps they are already leaving for the winter.

I was dying for my coffee this morning. I made off for the drive-thru in quick time.

We're working on the cleaning and sorting again today. It will be so nice to have this all finished. Then I can back to quilting!

It's to be a sunny day with a high of 27 C and very little smoke in the air.
