Day 7
DCIM\100GOPRO
We got up to Revelstoke early regardless of our efforts to party last night and were shocked by the amount of rain and lack of the white stuff. We were worried. We got in the gondola and about half way up it started looking good. In the second set of clouds it looked really good and by the time we got on the Stoke chair it was clear we had hit the jack pot.
At least 30cm of fresh up top we lapped the top all day and again it was incredible. I love the terrain at this place it just blew my mind, we barely stopped for lunch and just lapped the heck out of it. Hiked a bit later in the day to get some more. School boy error the night before I left my wet goggles in there case so I had the steaming trouble that cannot be resolved until they re left out to dry. Adam also had the same problem, hence why we re wearing sunglasses in a white out and in the freezing cold.
It did work! I could see and it wasnt too cold. The clouds cleared and we killed this place!! powder lines, to pillows and big drops. What a fantastic mountain. At the end of the day we were exhausted and decided to drive back to Banff where the snow is better! pic right to left-Adam Locke, Adam Fryatt, me! background is the ghosty trees that live up top.
As soon as we got near Lake Louise it was puking snow and icy as hell. We had to drive about 40-60kph for over an hour in a massive snow storm in the dark! Worst driving conditions ever. Breaking trail on the highway and seeing cars pulled over. I was relieved to make it back alive.
We met up with Ben in Revelstoke and he came back to Banff with us, we went out 4 strong and saw more bands and carried on living this wild holiday dream. The beers were needed after the drive.
