HONEYBEE Hymenoptera Apidea

I liked this one out of the 20 or so I took - as its proboscus is dead sharp ! so I guess its a picture of a proboscus. - sticking its nose where its wanted.
I've heard some terrifying stories about the food chain if bees die out .
they were imported to NZ around 1839 - I wondered what happened in NZ before then ?
