Abstract

Today: a Comedy of Errands. We tried to do everything on that side of town in one swoop, and it didn't exactly work.The doctor is running 45 minutes late, can we come back this afternoon? According to a very small sign on the door, the art supply store is closed on Mondays. So are a lot of restaurants. Two men are fighting about the pandemic in the cashier line at Target, yelling and waving their arms around; I think it's about masks--one guy keeps saying people are dying man, just do it. The housewares store has blue towels, but not a blue rug, and no clear shower curtains because the company that makes them is now making stuff for hospitals...  Oh, I agree, these are not earth-shattering things, but it makes for a long and strange day.  I used to like shopping, but I'm okay with staying home for a good long while.
