An ordinary life....

Esme,

Backblipped 23.08.21

We reconvened downstairs around 10am.

David took Lola for her morning walk, Alice and Eileen went for a dip and I got breakfast underway.

More chatting over a leisurely breakfast, well brunch really, that lingered on over more pots of coffee, until it was time for them to head off.  Not as sad a cheerio as it would have been if we didn't have another date already planned to get together in November.  The mad thing is, it will be here in no time!

After they left I sat down, once again full of great intentions to catch up with my blips, but once again, I fell asleep!

I woke up half an hour before it was time to head to Andrew and Nikki's.  It was Nikki's birthday on Friday so we'd arranged to pop down with her birthday pressies, which she liked (one of my paintings that she'd admired, a ring I bought her when we visited Culloden.  It contains dried purple heather from Culloden Battlefield, and a bottle of Processo.  Noting that so I remember not to repeat next year :-)   It was also a good excuse to see Esme :-))

Due to roadworks on the motorway, it was almost 7pm when we arrived.  Esme was overtired and hyper and on the verge of getting a severe telling off, but our arrival provided a great distraction and gave her a second wind.

She is such a little live wire and full of energy!  She was keen to show us her new counting and letters game, counting easily up to 20 (whilst occasionally having a mind blank at no 5 :-)  Every time she sees the letter E she shouts that's me and Gran!  (Ele :-)   I had taken a Baby Shark sticker book for her and David and I ended up covered in stickers!  Serves me right! :-)

David and Andrew popped out for fish suppers for tea.  Our niece Jennifer was there too and it was great to see her.  She's just started her years teacher training course at Glasgow Uni and is enjoying it so far.

After our fish suppers and a cuppa, we headed home and shattered, went straight to bed!  All this socialising takes it toll!  lol
