Amble through Cromarty
We took a stroll. As so often, when you do that you spot an architectural detail and you think, there's a Blip in that. It might be something, like this, that you've passed countless times. And then an accident of light, and the way it's framed by a wall, or a tree branch, catches you.
This is the old school house, though now it's a private home. The school is just beyond it, on the right. But the days of providing houses for teachers are long gone which, unsurprisingly, is one reason why it's so difficult to recruit staff in the north.
