A gun?

I see firefighters by the river.
 Of course I go there. 

And the water begins to ripple. 
A diver is on his way up. I can see air bubbles.
Something breaks the water surface. Just like in the crime series on TV.
Something brown. Is it a gun? 
No, it is a wooden stick.

Why did you pick up that stick, I ask disappointed. 
Just for fun, the diver laughed.
And he was right, it was fun. I laughed too.


PS. It was only an exercise, no one was in danger and they were not looking for a murder weapon.
