The Clachan Bridge between the island of Seil and the Scottish mainland is also known as the "Bridge over the Atlantic".
On the Seil side of the bridge is Tigh an Truish or "House of the Trousers". After the Jacobite rebellion of 1745 the kilt was banned, so when Seil islanders travelled to the mainland they stopped at Tigh an Truish to change out of their kilts into trousers. These days it is an inn.
