The grand old lady of Princes street
Slight drama this morning when our son couldn’t find one of the flashes to go on his socks with his kilt - he wasn’t in the best of moods when his father suggested cutting up an old blanket to make new ones! . They needed to be in Bathgate to get ready at a friends hotel room by 9.30 so no chance of trying to source new ones. As I was driving them, I offered to take our son to the nearby shopping centre at 10 to see if he could pick up another pair. I decided to ask him to check one more time and you’ve guessed it, he found the missing item. Daft laddie hadn’t checked properly before throwing a bit of a strop!
Home to get myself ready to head into the city centre to meet a couple of friends for lunch. Our table overlooked St Andrew’s square and we could see an open air cinema set up - apparently part of the Film Festival.
After lunch I walked up to the hall where Miss PHL’s play will be staged this coming week - poster in extras. She’s producing and also has a small part. Mr PHL was coming into town to drop off our small table for the cast to use as one of their props so I took the chance to get a lift home.
Liked this shot of the Old North British (though it’s been the Balmoral) for years! Love the fact that the clock is kept 3 minutes fast so that rail passengers can make their trains.
