Butterfly Conservation

I was weeding when this happened so I ran in for my camera. It's been the best year for butterflies in our garden that we can remember and all down to the verbena. Rob and I have joined the Butterfly Conservation organisation and now have a lovely pack of leaflets and a magazine all about our fluttery friends. 

My visitors arrive tomorrow. There is nothing like having visitors to get me having a really good house clean and making me do the weeding. Still lots of that to do, I could be out there every day! I've definitely noticed that having bark on the beds keeps them down and makes them much easier to pull up so every bed is getting barked this autumn.
