A trip down memory lane
Today was again grey and there was rather more rain than originally forecast. We decided that this would be a good opportunity to carry on with the clearing of our home office. We've pretty well bagged up all that needs to be confidentially shredded but now have to tackle a large bookcase, which cannot stay, and contains books, CDs wrapping paper, ribbon, cards, spare files and ring binders.... you name it, we've probably got it squirrelled away in that bookcase. We have decided that a built in cupboard in daughter #2's bedroom should house our slimmed down book collection but first we need to clear it of all that she still has in there, a task which will take several days!
Whilst sorting through I came across her baby book which of course I had to stop and look at. The label on the back says that it was actually bought at Hill Top, Beatrix Potter's house and it was, I believe , a gift from Mr MC's parents. I sent daughter #2 quick mobile pics of the first few entries and a photo taken of her while we were still in hospital. I think that the advent of technology and mobile phones means that hospitals no longer have someone call to provide this service and no doubt during the Great Pandemic, it would be forbidden to have 'unnecessary' people on the wards anyway.
