A Nudge In The Right Direction

Do you think it true that generally our path through life reflects our upbringing and surroundings. By and large my family are military, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncles and so on all served in the Army or Navies, Royal and Merchant. I opted for the Royal Navy, my first marriage was to the daughter of a member of the RN, my second to a serving member of the WRNS, a Jenny.
And so it is with my eldest daughter, Sarah, not a military life but a life of service nonetheless as a teacher of very young children. Public school educated Sarah met Manolo and moved to Spain where she taught in a prestigious private school, all the while putting herself through further education to increase her qualifications.
Manolo’s work meant a return to the U.K where she has put herself through university to gain the qualifications required to progress her career but more importantly help those youngsters who need the help.
Graduation, including recognition as ‘undergraduate of the year’, is in late October. I am super excited to have been invited to attend and spend the day celebrating her success with her and her family.
