Over at the community tree nursery

Mull Native Woodlands Group are hosting a community BBQ next Saturday, the aim is to raise awareness and to encourage more people to think about the future of our environment, plant more native woodlands and less Sitka spruce.

Planning the BBQ is fun and nerve racking, will people turn up? is there enough food? and that big thought, hope it doesn’t rain although we do have the polytunnel for cover.

This morning a small group tidied up inside the polytunnel and a hardy soul strimmed a huge area outside, it was a wet wet morning but what a difference he made. A and I sorted out the inside with the three chaps making these large mouse proof boxes, you can see John and A lifting one into place. Before we left another such box was ready for the next batch of seeds boxes.

As always it is impressive how a small group of people can make a difference. We see it time and again in this small community.
