Wednesday wanderings
Another early morning walk with Fletch. Not as sunny but mild and pleasant enough.
I kept Fletch on his long lead to prevent him racing like a mad thing after squirrels and guinea fowl.
After breakfast it was time to load up the car. We were only away 3 nights but we seem to have umpteen small bags, but as M pointed out, they were mainly for the dog. The ex girl guide in me plans for every eventuality so , there were Fletch's tins of food, biscuits, bowls, blankets, cover for chairs, towels.. etc etc. Just as well we have a big boot!
Once packed and the bill paid ( very reasonably priced) we set off for a walk along the river. We took our time and realised that we really must come here again. It ticks all the boxes for us.
Of course the tyre warning light came on when I started the engine but as I pumped up the second tyre the light came off ( and stayed off)
We finally made our way home but called at Houghton Garden Centre near Carlisle as we'd been given some garden vouchers . We ended up buying a pair of Foo dogs ( temple dogs) which will look perfect in our bonsai corner.
We called at M& S in Ulverston for a bit of food and were still home by 4:30. One good thing about not going too far for a holiday break is not being on the road for several hours.
Blip is of the view in front of the hotel. A bit dark as its early in the day.
Also an extra that made me laugh when I read it.
Back home and I have the usual sense of anti climax I always get But at least we got away. The number of Covid cases each day is not lessening .
