Spring is in the air......tra la la la la....

Spring garden preparation begun in earnest, warmth in the sunshine, a short bike ride, a bit of bird watching at the (much closer) pond, fire lit just after 5.00pm.  I don't think we'll get the same again tomorrow but for today - it was an absolute joy.  

The covid news however, isn't quite so positive.  Another 21 cases today bringing the current community outbreak total to 51.  Nothing on the South Island yet.......fingers remain crossed.  We know that things will always get worse before they get better so I guess I'm not really surprised.  If things go 'to plan' and the lockdown works then I guess we'll start seeing a steadying of infection numbers in about 10 days time and then a gradual drop in the total over 2-3 weeks so we could still have another month or so until our 'old' covid 'normal' returns.  If things don't go to plan though, those numbers could sky-rocket and that doesn't bear thinking about......
