Just Passing Through....

Our day started early this morning with a surprise...a deer swimming into our little back bay! As he was hugging the far shore, he was almost out of range for the zoom on my pocket camera...but I tried. My photo is not what you would call "sharp"! heh heh.. I thought maybe I could say I was using a soft focus technique, or a new app to make it fuzzy and dream-like, but, I know that would fool no-one! I played with every editing feature on my Mac but to no avail. I still wanted the deer to be recorded in my journal so I made it my blip despite its flaws...The deer did not return but disappeared into our second little back bay and we assume that he took off into the woods from there. What a treat to see him..that does not happen often here. 

Today was a real scorcher.....way too hot for me!  My daughter and I went out in the canoe for a while this morning; my son-in-law went fishing. Other than that, they spent most of the day doing jobs like painting, cutting grass, cleaning boats, and packing away their things as they head home tomorrow. I read and played with my computer! Of course between everything we did, we went swimming to cool off ! Even the water reflected the heat we have had over the last few days - its temperature reached 79.4 degreesF...which is VERY warm for our water! 

The day was really hazy a well as hot. It began with an orange sun and ended with an orange moon. It makes us wonder if we are still experiencing wildfire smoke? What a strange summer this has been.
