Deeside Diaries

Looking back

It's been a while since I've posted anything here - I just lost the urge to take pictures after my Dad died.

A few days ago I was going back through my old blips and I realised what a wonderful tool it is - all the memories of the days I took the photos came flooding back and I decided it was time to try and get back into it.

Tonight I picked up my camera and wondered where to start - starting again is often the most difficult part of any process I find. This turned my thoughts to when I used to paint - not that I was any good but it was cathartic - so I decided to dig out my old paints and see what I actually still had. Quite a lot, as it turns out, so maybe I'll start doing that again as well. I stopped playing with paints after a 'real' artist took the mick out of my daubings - maybe I was just too sensitive back then as he turned out to be an arse of the first calibre.

However, it did give me an idea for todays blip - here are some old ones I discovered - the oil was done many years ago when I lived in London. The watercolour a more recent one - and a first attempt at that media.
