Walk round Bolton in a hexaptych!
This morning Ro and I had a walk round Bolton and then I wanted to make a different shaped triptych! So here you are : a double Triptych or is there a name for one with 6 sections?
"A polyptych (/ˈpɒlɪptɪk/ POL-ip-tik; Greek: poly- "many" and ptychē "fold") is a painting (usually panel painting) which is divided into sections, or panels. Specifically, a "diptych" is a two-part work of art; a "triptych" is a three-part work; a tetraptych or quadriptych has four
parts; pentaptych five; hexaptych six; heptaptych (or septych in Latin) seven; octaptych eight parts; enneaptych nine; and decaptych has ten parts."
Wikipedia
1. Through the Town hall square - can't see the TH which is on right
2. Down Newport Street - you can see the Olympus on the right - Great fish and chips!
3. Cross Great Moor St. with the bus Station on your left
4. Under the Arch towards the train station and a Church and some Supermarkets.
5. Back under the Arch towards the Town Hall!
6. A shop on the way home. I just love the name!!
Unfortunately we didn't have time to stop at the Olympus and I forgot my library card etc! You can't win them all!
Have a wonderful weekend folks!!
