Lockdown Bird 76
Not really 76, maybe 6 or 7.
There's a lot to like about a magpie.
They're really smart, they form relationships with people, they recognise faces and they're excellent mimics.
Not as good as a lyrebird, but pretty good.
We usually stick our apple cores on a nail on a tree and today this maggie attempted to eat one.
He flew up several times, but was having difficulty balancing on a branch, as was his partner.
It would seem they're only comfortable on smaller branches.
This is not something that has worried any other bird.
Anyway, here he is having another attempt at getting comfortable.
He eventually gave up.
He's serenading me in the extra.
It was announced today that Greater Sydney (with the exception of Shoalhaven and the Central Coast) would be in lockdown for at least another five weeks, so you'll be seeing many more lockdown birds.
Tighter restrictions, too. Face masks inside and out, curfews in the most at risk areas and almost all shopping to be 'click and collect'.
