Eucryphia nymansensis

This is quite a rare flowering tree, growing into a narrow column eventually up to forty foot tall. It was first imported to the UK in the 1920s from Argentina, and large specimens are hard to find. I first saw it in full flower at Sizergh Castle one August and it was covered in bees! I knew I had to have one!
Mine must be around ten years old and is about 8 foot, and this year is flowering beautifully. It’s right next to the beehives and they are taking advantage of it, collecting nectar I think as I don’t see any pollen on their legs.
I wonder what the honey will be like!
