Marsh tit

This is one of my favourite birds and a regular sight around Dancersend Nature Reserve. I was out checking paths and boundaries today and one suddenly landed in a bush nearby. I was watching it through binoculars, then thought: why don't I try to get a photograph. It stayed long enough for me to get my camera out, select the maximum zoom position and take one shot. I was not expecting much from my little compact, hand-held and set at maximum telephoto...and with a cold wind blowing..., but was quite pleased with this.
