Whatever the rest of the day held was insignificant in relation to what the late afternoon/early evening held.........a nationwide announcement that we have a confirmed COVID case within the community.  Effective from midnight tonight the entire country is going into full Level 4 lockdown for an initial period of 3 days whilst Auckland and the Coromandel is expected to remain at level 4 for 7 days.  These durations are of course, precautionary but should the virus spread, it may be extended.  

The person at the centre of this alert has done everything that would have been expected of anyone in a similar situation - he sought medical advice, got tested as soon as he felt unwell and he and his wife self-isolated.  We all now once again hold our collective breaths to see what evolves.....
