Helter-skelter

Expected endings.

The labyrinth I helped build at Wakehurst Place is called 'Unexpected Endings'. The past few days have been filled with 'expected endings', as I knew I was pretty soon going to have to call it a day with anything not directly related to teaching. There's just no way I can fit everything in any more. A couple of weeks ago I resigned from the school club I was helping to run, yesterday I withdrew from my two Open University courses and today I went to Wakehurst to officially 'quit'. This picture is the corridor which leads to the staff area and I've always loved the Kew posters on the walls.

Although that all may sound very sad, it's not at all, really. Well, OK maybe a little. Or maybe a little more than a little! All three have been a huge part of my life for a long time and I wouldn't have been able to pursue my teaching dream without any of them. I'm so grateful to have had all these experiences and I've met so many wonderful people through them but each door is still open, as they say.
