Lincoln Castle's Victorian prison
The prison used the "Separate regime" from 1848 to 1878 where prisoners were isolated so as not to have a corrupting influence other inmates.
Men women and children as young as 8 were held here, there crimes ranged from stealing a waistcoat and bible to Highway robbery and murder. 7 were hanged during this period and their bodies lie in Lucy tower, where their graves can still be seen.
