Life from city to village

Keddleston Heron

Today we went for a walk around Keddleston Hall grounds, free as we are both national Trust members. Cutler Brook had 5 herons! I felt really privileged. There were also swans, nesting moorhens and an Egret. Spent quite a while watching this chap, who started off on shore, and gradually made his way out and along the length of the branch.
When we got back John made a lovely roast dinner before I had to drive home.
It has felt like a very indulgent weekend, as it was just the two of us.
