Quiraing

Showers this morning, mist hanging over the hills most of the day, and then some warm sunny spells.

Up early, and mam and dad left for Harris and Lewis.  We packed up the caravan, and headed to Uig.  After ditching the caravan, went for a tour.  Saw the old black house village, closed due to Covid-19.  Had a cuppa and then discovered dinosaur footprints at Staffin beach.  Took a shortcut back to Uig, via Quiraing.  Now waiting on the ferry to Lewis, will be late to the campsite.  Loved my short time in Skye, defo be back again, so much more to see and do, and next time a better idea what to plan.  Very similar to Shetland in some ways, butb bigger hills, more rain, and they've cared for their old croft houses more.  Shetland Mainland is 3rd largest island in Scotland, 2nd Skye, 1st is Lewis.

The shortcut through the mountains was spectacular, and wish I'd had time for a right walk, but saying that, it was misty, and I was always brought up not to go walking in the mist, especially when you don't know the hills.  This didn't stop plenty of others.  I enjoyed the views from a safe distance, and will be back to explore again.  The pass reminded me of a mini Applecross, and just as many cars passing through.  Looking to Quiraing, Isle of Skye, just before the mist came down again.
