Lily

The Peter Nyssen catalogue arrived today. There are so many beautiful tulips and lilies I’m spoiled for choice. Well Mr C says there’s no need to chose as the ones from this year will come again.

Lucky fellow spotted a slow worm in the garden then watched a red squirrel run up and down our sun parasol before running off up the path. So pleased it has come back.

I’m still weary despite a good sleep. I’ve made a tea loaf with raisins, sultanas and mixed peel because I didn’t have enough dates for the sticky date cake. I wanted to take a contribution to share with Marion and Steve who are coming to walk with us tomorrow. She is superfit but will have to slow down - we are aiming for Windy Gyle on the Border Ridge and there’s a fair bit of ascent which will challenge me.

I roasted a lot of veg before setting to on the courgettes. I’ve made a courgette orzo for tonight.

I’m enjoying reading a good book recommended by both Gill and Lynn - Once Upon a River by Diane Setterfield.
