Woodpecker

Nice to see the young woodpecker in the garden. We haven't had much time to be able to watch them but The Man keeps making sure they are well-fed.

Our hopes for an early start on the summerhouse were dashed by rain this morning. The Mate arrived late morning to stay with us for the duration of the job. His health won't let him do the labouring work but, being a cabinet-maker, he will be able to act in an advisory capacity and keep us right.

The end of the day doesn't look any different from yesterday except for the whisky drinking however, all of those 56 green and black risers have been accurately spaced out and adjusted to ensure a level base for the cabin. The bearers have been gathered from the heap of timber on the drive ready for a good start on the building tomorrow.
