The Same but Different...........

.................The image on the left is a photo of an old postcard of a Lincolnshire village as it was over 100 years ago and the one on the right is as it looked this morning! (in sepia to match).
I was able to stand in almost the same place as the original photographer which was great. It is easy to see the changes which, in fact, are not enormous. (and perhaps not for the better!)
I had to smile when I saw the two young schoolgirls in their boater hats and their bicycles - had they dismounted to get the attention of the two lads sittng on the wall of the old bridge? Those things never change!
I have a busy day today - one of my newer "ladies" rang me on Tuesday to see if I could take her "to get her feet done" at 10.30 this morning. Sounds simple? The first time she contacted me was to take her to the Surgery for 11.00 - I picked her up at 10.45 ( as you would) - when we got there her appointment was for 12 noon!! The second time, it was to the Clinic (6 miles away) for 3.30pm - picked her up at 3.10pm - appointment was for 4.30pm!!! So I have just rung the Chiropodist to check - her appointment is for 11.30 - not 10.30 (!!!) - so I now have to ring HER and tell her I won't be there until 11.15am!!! My mind is in a complete whirl - she is not that old and is not suffering from dementia so why she is always 1 hour early for everything I don't quite understand! Oh the trials and tribulations of a Voluntary Driver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weather was rather dull earlier but is brightening up though more snow is forecast - temperature 2 deg. C. As I type this the sun has come out!
