Trip to the quarry
This morning I drove down the main valley to a stone quarry to order seven tons off gravel. The quarry man was very helpful and took me around various piles so that I could make my choice of size and colour. Access to the site was interesting. The quarry is near to the Tet river which I had to cross on a raised, unprotected causeway which I imagine is impassable when the river is in spate. Then there was a couple of kilometres of dirt road before I arrived at the site. I then went to order some landscaping membrane and phoned the local police to get permission to have all the gravel dumped in a parking bay opposite our house. It will then have to be barrowed into the yard. I painted in the afternoon which was a good way to relax after a busy morning.
